This coming weekend is the annual Maine Boat Builders Show! This is an incredible display of Maine Craftsmanship with the lkes of Lyman Morse, Hinckley, Robinhood Marine (Cape Dory) and many, many others. Also lots of vendors who don't do the regular shows like Mas Epoxies, Epifanes, Edson, small sail makers and sailing photographers like Alison Langley! So who here is planning on attending? I'll be working at the show Saturday & Sunday helping my friend Seth in the Mobile Marine Canvas Booth (just look for the full size dodger display). I'd love to put screen names to faces!! Stop by and say hello if you go!!! The show runs from Friday through Sunday and tickets are $15.00 at the door. Really this is a show not to be missed!! http://www.portlandcompany.com/boatShow/

Looks like a nice show

Having had the pleasure of a wooden boat restoration in my lifetime there's something about wooden boats or fiberglass boats with a lot of wood thats so nice to look at, I looked up the travel time from Long Island and its not a bad drive(5 hrs including the ferry)but I have to pass on this one cause Free Spirit is getting wet in two weeks and I have to get her ready already lost a day to rain this past weekend

I was going to head up today...

but I'm down and out with viral bronchitis. The weather didn't look so great for the drive either. Bummer. The video on the web site was making me drool. Maybe next year.

Great show

Got lots of free stuff from WM and the show price on a new Fein multimaster. What an awesome tool. The 90+ year old restored boat that Rockport marine was showing was a piece of art. Unbeliveable. And I love all the great little daysailors that are on display. I even liked some of the power boats. At least the ones they build in Maine! I also picked up a neat book on the history of glass boat building. I got to speak with Bomon, who are building my custom portlights. Great guys who know what they are doing. If you are within a decent distance of Portland Maine then you must see this show. It makes all other shows look like cheap imitations. Rich, it was nice meeting you and your wife Bonnie. Hope to see you out on the water.

Too Pretty

Mainsail, Some of that stuff is just too pretty to actually use it. Just georgous, but some of that varnish I wouldn't even want to walk on barefoot. Thats much more suited to looking at than using.

Bernice's Head .........................

......... set my bladder all aquiver. Excellent workmanship but would need daily polishing to deal with standing splashing rights. Best regards, S/v Island Hunter
