On the new-to-me H33.5 1994 all control lines run to the cockpit except the main sheet. The dodger windshield is installed just aft of the traveller. The only way to control the traveller from the cockpit is to unzip the windshield (sides) and grab the traveller control lines. Similarly the only way to control the main sheet is access it through the zippers (provided the block is positioned at the extremes of the traveller). What are others doing?

Is your mainsheet and traveler set up like beow? Some options to to get the mainsheet into the cockpit come to mind: 1) install a collared slot in the dodger window to route the mainsheet through (low cost), 2) remove the cam cleat and route the mainsheet block to the base of the mast then through a turning block to the cockpit through a rope clutch then to a winch on the cabin top (high cost and might require a longer mainsheet), or 3) modify the mainsheet rigging as shown in the diagram on the right below (high cost and might require a longer mainsheet).

Your number two option is one that I was considering and would like to see examples of how it is implemented on the H33.5. Item of concern is interference with the boom vang.

Sail…. And yes my main sheet is arranged like in the picture. Actually my thought was to leave blocks in the current location ( due to mechanical advantage considerations) and run the end of the sheet back to a turning block at the mast step.

my main sheet runs back to the mast and thru a block back to the cockpit into a cultch and my dodger has cutouts for the traveler lines.

My 1994 33.5 is set up like Don's and resembles the diagram in SFbay's illustration. Traveller is forward of the dodger and there are spaces for the control lines for the traveler car in the dodger. The other 33.5 in the area is set up the same way- I wonder if the PO changed the system for some reason ?

Definitely the dodger has been updated but I don’t know about the main sheet tackle. I have three clutches on each side which are all used: outhaul, topping lift, first reef, second reef, main halyard, jib halyard,

Another rigging option............route the mainsheet to on side of the traveler through a block under the dodger to a clutch then winch.

That's where we differ. I have to go to mast to change my outhaul. Otherwise my clutches are set up like your's.
