Go to ANY online sailing website and search through their hardware inventory. When you find a picture of something you think might work, make a note of the block's description or its name. Once you have that you can fine tune your search with google and often discover a number of sources for you to compare items and make make your choice.
Boat parts are rarely described using a boat's make or model. The part is more commonly identified by physical appearance or construction.... an example: "single, swiveling ratchet block with a becket and cam cleat ... this particular description, btw, could easily describe a lower mainsheet block for a smally boat. Some hardware pieces are described by their uniqueness.... for instance, a "cheek" block, or a "snatch: block... these parts would be further identified with physical features..... i.e. 35mm single cheek block, 40mm snap shackle base snatch block. Okay........ it gets better because most online dealers will have the gear grouped by manufacturer FIRST, ...with each manufacturer having a number of pages dedicated to their own versions of these parts........... WHEW!!!!!! That's why you want to kind of know the name of the block first.......... google it .... and go from there.
Thanks,Joe. I'll try your suggestions. It's been difficult to get the correct mounting. I'll take a picture and send it to you. Perhaps you can help me write a correct description, you seem very familiar with sailboat jargon. This particular one has four(4) mounting screws. My base bracket only has two(2).
Perhaps I'll have to change the base mount. Do you know if the base mount is through bolted, or just screws?

There are many ways to handle this. In the end you want something to attach a modern mainsheet block to. You can modify your existing hardware or you can install a pad eye. I would try to find a four screw pad eye but I wouldn't exect the screw holes to line up. You'll likely have to fill in the old ones and drill new ones

Not necessarily.
Screws may be installed into fiberglass or into tapped metal threaded holes beneath fiberglass, as well as through the deck, where a backing plate, washers, and nuts are installed.
Screws into fiberglass would be the weakest design, not likely to be used for a mainsheet block.

Not trying be a pill here, but that picture is TOO close. back up a bit so we can see the entire assembly, then... you may add a close up to a particular area that concerns you.
You should understand that the comments you're getting here are not necessarily from your specific boat's owner group. Most of us choose "ask all sailors" when setting up our filters because most sailboat questions don't really need model specific answers. They're just general questions that could apply to any number of similarly sized boats. Questions about marine diesels, for instance, or fiberglass repair, rigging, electrical systems etc. They are often general subjects where you benefit from a large database rather than just the few members who own boat like your own. It's a huge advantage and is mainly the reason this forum has been so active over the years. Good luck.

That attachment looks fantastic! All you need is a shackle and you can put just about any mainsheet block you want on there!
