After a long, grueling spring of prep-work, my Hunter is finally in the water. As luck would have, 2 hours into the first sail, the main blew out! It's finally time to bite the bullet and buy a new one and I was wondering if anyone out there had experience with sailmakers up and down the Chesapeake. Specifically, I'm looking a ScottSails in Annapolis. If anyone has had bad experiences with them, I'd like to hear about it before I commit. P.S. Anyone have an old Main they want to be rid of? None of the used sail places have anything close to my size. Thanks in advance

Randy?

I have a main from my Legend 37 that I replaced a couple of years ago than I'd love to sell. I have pics, too. Contact me thru the Owner's Directory.

Try Far east sails. I bought a main last year, and I liked it so much I bought a jib this year. I didn't read the article, but I am told Practical Sailor rated them #1, and they are certainly #1 in my book. Thier prices are about 25% - 30% cheaper than any US sailmaker, and that included delivery.
