main sail removal

after removing the main for the off season, how do i stop the roller inside the mast from clanging?thanksrierson_d@hotmail.com

Do you have in-mast furling?

Tie a small line on the halyard schackle..

then pull the halyard about 3/4 the way up the mast. The small line will let you pull the halyard back down in the spring. If you forget, just have someone pull you up in the bolsum chair.
