Now my question is about main sails. How does the main sail foot attachment to the boom effect boat preformance. Which would be considered "better", loose footed or attached? Also, is a main sail a canidate as a radial sail?

Foot Loose
The foot of the mainsail on my 25 ran through a track in the boom. The bead that was sewn into the foot of the sail pulled out of the last inch of the track making it impossible to adjust my outhaul. I tried re-feeding the foot but finally just left it out of the track. I now have better main shape than I ever had before which has led to better preformance too. happy sails, Gerard
