Main sail attachement @ tack

Anybody have a photograph of how their mainsail is attached at the tack, on a Race Package boom?

Question question.

I was just wondering if there is a better way than what I have. Mine is just a long shackle through the boom, way to long.

Bella Barchetta is rigged the same as above...
I believe the long shackle allows the foot to float loose for light winds.
The shackle on mine is always a little loose unless I yank the outhaul.

Right now I am using a smaller ( and shorter) shackle. Seems to be working OK.
