My main has no Reef Tack, the eye that should go on the hook on the boom/mast when I reef. It just has a small nylon or whatever extension which I probably plan on putting a block to do some single hand reefing. Its a H26 and the sail came with the boat. Hows the setup of your individual H26's? I'm afraid of maybe tearing the sail if I try to use the small extension on the hook. Any ideas? Carlitos S/V Martina

It doesn't come with an eye or grommet for the reef tack, just the loop of webbing and it is reinforced with extra tabling so it works real well, the only problem I have is it can slip off the reefing horn on the goosenick until I get the halyard pulled tight. Seems like a good system and I've used it many times as my first mate (wife) likes to see the reef in before we leave the marina when the wind is over 20 knots.

My 98 H26 with Doyal sails has the same loop of webbing. Works OK. I did have a second reef but in. They used a big brass "D" ring. I think the webbing stays in the horns better.

How's the 2nd Reef Line Rigged
I also had SailCare install a second reef about 3' above the first. Great job! They used the webbing loop on mine. Has anyone run 1st and 2nd reefing lines back to the cockpit. Doesn't seem useful if we've got to go up on deck to hook the web loop and tie the body of the sail to the boom. We have used the first and second reef quite a few times despite this inconvenience. As a side note, if someone is considering work like this done on their sail, you might want to have reinforcments put in the main where it hits the spreaders. The newer sails have it. The older ones don't. "Festivity" 1996 H26
