Beneteau 343 with US Spars (Z 500 E) furling mast...never had trouble removing or replacing the in-mast furling m'sail but last time it was a devil to get back up. Ran it up (not past 2/3s mark) and the tension was so hard on the halyard was afraid to crank harder. At one point even ran a cleaner rag up the foil and back. Last time (#3 effort) lubed the mainsail luff bead that goes into the furling foil extrusion and that seemed to help but the last 2 feet were again very stubborn and am not sure I got it all way. My fear is that the halyard has jumped the sheave in the masthead but that does not explain why it is easy at first and gets progressively harder? Any help appreciated.
