main furling line size?

Hello I have a Hunter 49 and day before yesterday the main furling line broke.

Since it looks very old and used I plan to change it.

Could anyone tell me the type, length and size of the Main furling line?

Contact Selden Mast, 843-760-6278, they will probably ask for the serial number off of your mast, should be etched just above the mast base, usually starboard side.

Good advice from Dave. Check that you do have a Selden mast. I was embarrassed to find that the reason the Seldon people kept confusing me, was because my Catalina has a Charleston mast. Opps!!! :bang:

Is this the "continuous" furler line? If it is, the Selden mast manual I have does not specify the length. However, it does specify a 10 mm diameter double plaited line. It has to be the right size to stay on the mast winch and go through the turning block. I suggest measuring from the mast to the cockpit and adding enough line to wrap it around a winch plus the length to slice it plus some extra. Attached is my Selden mast manual for reference.
