Main and Jib Halyard lenght for 1984 27'

Recently purchased 27' . Would someone tell me how to determine the lenght of the Main and Jib Halyards? thanks Mike!

Mine are....

The height on my mast is 36', so it is 36 up + 36 down + length from mast base to cockpit and a little extra. About 85' on my main and a little more on my jib. And yes I know the main halyard doesn't go all 36' down but only to the sail head board on the boom. I use the extra length to lift heavy things off the deck, like me when I have to go up the mast to work on it.

I too bought recently a 1984 H27 and replaced the halyards. I can confirm that 85 ft is the right length. 85 ft is a standard length for pre-assembled halyards and you can buy them straight from the catalog.

Halyard lenghts

Great Information! I purchased the line for the Halyard and now I have to replace. So any suggestions on how not to lose the line in the mast?
