For anyone that's tried to remove windows in a 272, 242, 192 or any other similar boat:After literally destroying three windows on our 272 as we replaced them, I had a flash of insight: find a way to saw the adhesive. So, I used an old guitar string (D)! First, use a skinny screwdriver or knife to pry through the adhesive. Then feed the guitar string through. We started from the top, went across and down one side, then back to the other side and down. It is a two person job, we just tied the ends of the string into loops, then covered with duck tape to ease some of the stress on our hands. Once sides and top were done, we just used a small knife to cut the bottom as one of us pulled the window away from the cabin. Two came out un-damaged, the third broke right at a corner when we applied too much pressure pulling it out. Total time per window for removal was about 20 minutes!!Another beauty of this is that if you are installing new ones, you can use the old ones as pattern for both the black paint around the edges and the screw holes. O'Day can fabricate new windows, ballpark cost is around $50 per window.Hope this helps someone else spend less time working and more time SAILING!!-Mark
