Considering a Mack Pack to handle our large mainsail. Anyone out there using one? What are the pros and cons? Did you install it?

I have one ...

.. on my 37c. Probably the best thing I've bought for the boat. Installed it myself, although I needed a hand when installing the mini-blocks up on the mast. Took 2-3 hours, and it was not difficult. The video they send with the kit was very useful. Now I can get the main down and in its bag in about 1 minute.

I Also Have One

I bought one this spring, along with a new main and jib, all from Mack Sails. I have a Vision 32, with a 16' boom and a 53' mast. The Mack Pack has really made life easier and insures that you use the sailcover more often, which will prolong the life of your main. Its less expensive than the competitors, but is still very high quality. The only thing I had Mack Sails add that wasn't standard is additional ties along the bottom of the Mack Pack. Since the Mack Pack is always on the boom, I roll it down and tie it up neatly along the boom while sailing. Installing it was just like Pete said. Only took a few hours. The hardest part is working up on the mast to install the turning blocks for the lazy jacks.
