Macgregor Venture 24 - outboard tank location

We recently purchased a 1970s Macgregor Venture 24 and are in the process of doing a complete re-fit/re-build. It came without an engine which we want to add. We've added an engine mount where there were holes for the old mount, but do not see any where to put the gas tank for a larger motor. Any suggestions? Or are we stuck with a smaller motor that has an internal tank?

You're in luck; the book Fix It and Sail by Gilbert covers the complete restoration of his McGregor 24/ 25 as I recall. Don't know of many books that cover a single boat.

Usually tank is in cockpit against the transom.. not overly familiar with the cockpit of that boat though.
