MacGregor 25 Running Rigging from Ebay

I recently purchased a 1985 Mac 25 that is without any of the running rigging.

Given that I am new to sailing and don't have a clue as to what rigging I need, I was thinking about buying a package specific to the 25 on Ebay.

Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'd ask the Mac owners here. Bunch of good people that can help you if you give them an idea of how you intend to use the boat (race or cruise) and what your budget looks like for this. Many of them monitor the trailer sailing forum.

Cajun Trading, the company in that ebay ad, is really great. I have purchased rope from them for ten years, and have always been pleased with the quality and the service. I also get the stuff delivered to my SoCal door from Nova Scotia for less money than going to the local West Marine. Highly recommended!

You might want to write him and find out the lengths. Especially the halyards. You will eventually want to run them back to the cockpit. In which case you will want them about 10' longer. I can't speak for the quality of the lines.
