Hello,

I’m looking for a template for the tent for my Macgregor Venture 22. If anyone has a handle on one I’d love to have it made. Many thanks!

Welcome to the forum!!

Do you have the pop-top with a frame, as shown in the photo on the left below? Do you want a tent, as shown in middle and right below? If so, you could take measurements and sew your own out of Sunbrella OR have your local canvas shop take measurements and fabricate one out of Sunbrella for you. This is a long shot, but you might send a PM to owners in this directory MacgregorOwners.com Owner Directory (sailboatowners.com) ...........one is even in Sacramento and maybe that owner has a pop-top tent you can measure and make a template.

Hey thanks! Yeah I have a guy that’ll take measurements and make it for me but I was curious if anyone had a template. I’ll try the Macgregor forum. Cheers

Since you have a canvas guy, who will take measurements, he will not need a template. Moreover, unless it was brand new the tent template will not fit exactly due to shrinkage / expansion. Why do I know? I have had 2 sailboat dodgers with full biminis and 2 powerboats with flybridge and sundeck enclosures, long teak rail covers, and exterior window screens built and every time I offered the existing canvas as a template, they declined to use it and relied on own measurements, since they were guaranteeing fit up.

Thankful to you for that! I may ask you some more questions later though as this is my first delta boat and I hope to sail to the bay this summer. I’ll keep you posted

If you sail to the bay, stop in at Brickyard Cover Marina (now Boardwalk Port Marina) in Point Richmond, adjacent to the Richmond Yacht Club, and will treat you to a refreshment. If you belong to a yacht club, you can stay at the Richmond Yacht Club for 3 nights free (last I checked) and they have a nice restaurant and bar.
