Macerator thru hull not in use

We don’t use our macerator pump. What is best practice. Should we remove it or just keep the thru hull closed?

I'd just keep it closed while exercising it occasionally, the next owner might use it when you get your next boat.

I'd remove it because after a few years of no use, the rubber parts in it will have dried out and hardened, lubrication in the motor will have settled, allowing corrosion in the motor, and all you'll have is a useless piece of junk that leaks.. You can prob'ly get a few $$ for it now from someone who plans to do some offshore sailing where he can use it.
