Peggy, We winterized the boat A friend said we should do the macerator too. I said it has NEVER been used, as it is illegal. He said if any water is in it I will have problems. With boat drydocked, we cranked the macerator (discharged into a large bucket for proper disposal) but never saw antifreeze (pink) come out. Could it be so diluted it won't appear pink? Should we have left it alone? We had put about 4 gallons of antifreeze in the system when we winterized (pumped 2 gals thru fresh water intake, into head, on into holding tank), and also poured another 2 gals directly into holding tank pump out port to be safe. I also left the sea cock open for now, but with cold weather coming soon, I am concerned and want to know what I should do to be sure the macerator unit is ok over winter...Thanks.
