I just purchased a 1976 Macgregor Venture 21. The boat came on what appears to be the stock trailer that Macgregor supplied with these boats. Here's my problem. I bought the boat in Kentucky. Kentucky doesn't license, or title, boat trailers. I live in West Virginia which requires a title and license for boat trailers. Can anyone tell me the make of these trailers? Also, where is the VIN (vehicle identification number) located. Thanks.

Most venture trailers were built by Trail Rite out of Santa Ana, Ca. They've been around about 50 years. Serial # should be stamped near the front near the hitch. Trail Rite 3100 W. Central, Santa Ana, Ca. Phone 714-556-4540 Fax 714-556-5718 Fair Winds, Old Salt....

If your facing the front of the trailer it will be on the left. It will be near the front just aft of where the tung stops and the two rails begin. I think its on the top of the trailer.Use a drill paint remover attachment and you will find it. I had the same problem,, I eventually found it.
