Mac 19

I have found a Mac 19 in very nice condition and am seriously thinking about pulling the trigger. It is a 93, with 40 HP Evinrude and trailer is in top shape w/new tires, boat looks new.

I have been looking for a 26x. New to sailing have owned a 29' Topaz Sportfish. Looking to learn a bit about sailing.

I am aware that this is not the best sailing vessel, or powerboat for that matter, but it seems to be a good way to test the waters for less than half the investment of a 26x.

I have copy's of original literature and owners manual for the boat.

All boats are a compromise... as long as know the compromises you are making before hand ...

I can see how the 19 would be ideal if you like to sail now and again but use the boat mostly for a floating camp.... and/or you have younguns who want to tube..... could be a really fun boat. And at 19 ft.... easy to haul, launch and retrieve....And from what I've read about the 26X... it is not a horrible sailboat... just not one of the better sailboats.

How are you going to use the boat..
