HI guys new problem.I said on my last post that ive been haveing some hard starts and i though that runing the moter harder mite burn off some carbon and clean things up a bit . This weekend the wind came up for the firt time since ive had my boat in the water.(5 weeks)The moter started up it ran for about 2min then started to make a real bad compression leaking noise .I shut the moter off and checked every thing ,it all looked good I was solo on fathers day.(I think this was the present)so i had no one to hit the button wile i looked at the moter but the next time i tryed to start the noise was there .The thired time it wanted to start.The fourth time the motor started and the noise was there but it stoped in about 10 sec .Now ive started the moter 10 times and ran it for about 45min, motor runs good no smoke no noise Ive never tryed the decompression lever. never needed to I thought it is on the back of the head on the valve cover.I would have tryed the lever if i had some one to turn the key ,could the motor run on two cylinder with one cylinder leaking could a valve get stuck open? I called UD but did not hear from anty body yet I ordered a tec book but will not get it for a few days I sent away for a valve cover gaskit and i plan to look in the head for broken parts Ive had the boat for 5 years and never ADJ the valves.I run about 25 gals of fuel a year. On a gass motor i no what to listen for.The disel sounds broke to me all the time.how easy is it to adj the valves ?Ive done it on bikes and cars. Is this a DYS job .I tryed to run at 2800RPMs but it sounds very loud . I could use some help on this one. Do you think i should run the moter ? John
