I changed the fuel filter and now the engine won't fire. It sounds like no fuel is getting in. Do I need to bleed the fuel line?

if it ran before the filter change, then you can bet air got into the system.... bleeding is the only way to remove the air.

Unlike a Yanmar, for example, the Universal bleeds the system mechanically. You open up the bleed screws (one at a time in the proper order) and then turn the engine over. There is no kingston pump to manipulate. Most likely you have introduced air into the system and there are usually three things that keep a diesel from running or running properly: air, water or contamination.

Close, Bill.

There is only ONE bleed screw, the knurled knob, on an M25. It's rather simple to do.

Thanks to all for the good information. I think I can fix it.
