M-25XP Rotation?

I know I have a right hand prop. So does that mean when standing aft of the engine looking forward, the engine rotates clockwise when running?
I’m installing new Oberdorfer raw water pump to replace the Sherwood pump and understand I need to set the vanes of the impeller for the direction of the engine rotation.
I can “bump” the starter but thought I would ask here.
I couldn’t tell from the vanes on the Sherwood pump. Looks like they are set in both directions.

Unless that pump/impeller is a lot different from any I've ever seen, as soon as you crank the engine over the vanes should assume the correct orientation.

The vanes in a new impeller will set correctly on the first rotation no matter you may have put the set opposite in your initial install.

Some motor manufacturers make the transmission such that the propeller rotates opposite the motor rotation, some the same as the motor rotation. In these Universal's motor rotation is clockwise looking at the front. The prop is right hand so the propeller in forward gear is clockwise viewed from the rear.

Here is the manual: http://l-36.com/read_pdf.php?file=m...Universal+Diesel++M+25xp+++++Technical+Manual

I agree with Charles!! The vanes will set them self the first revolution. Setting before hand is an urban myth.

Thanks for the quick reply. I read through the manual but could not the answer.

Now I can add this to my “Not to worry “ list.
