If you have a Universal/Kubota engine, you (usually) do not have one of these, but rather an exhaust riser - a pipe from the exhaust manifold to another pipe with a nipple in it before the muffler. It is rare for Universals to have exhaust elbows, per se, but some do. Exhaust mixing elbows are what most Yanmars have. Many skippers here have them, and do not recognize that Universal and Yanmar engines have somewhat different components of the exhaust systems, functionally the same, but different terminology and layout.Everything except the exhaust mixing elbow
After replacing all that stuff you will need to "burp" your motor to make sure you get all the air out of the coolant system (antifreeze system). Air gets trapped in these engines and hoses and you need to get it all out. The manual states to rev the engine hard a few times to really get the coolant moving but Stu's website can give you a lot more insight.Engine started over heating the end of last season. Replaced hoses, impeller, fresh water pump, new coolant, and tstat. Everything except the exhaust mixing elbow, which was replaced s number of years ago.
What do I need to do next??
