I am replacing the damper plate on my Universal M 25. The damper plate has a slightly larger diameter (2-3 mm) than the first recess of the adapter plate, which it is bolted on to (pics of the old damper, adapter only, and new damper below). It took me a while to get the new damper plate mounted because one side wanted to fall into the recess, yet the entire plate doesn't fit within the recess. There's also enough play when the adapter screws aren't torqued that I'm concerned that it will partially fall into the recess once I hook the transmission back up. I reconfirmed with the shop that rebuilt the transmission that I received the correct adapter plate. In looking at the old damper plate pic, it looks like it too may not have been mounted down within the recess, but not sure. With the new plate mounted, torquing the screws down also started to flex the adapter plate down into the recess.
Any information on the correct mounting of the adapter plate would be appreciated.
Thanks!
