There's a lot to like, but "cruiser" seems a misnomer, at least as we use that term in the US of A. It's more like a keeled racing dingy. Plan on wet rides and lots of hiking, and more than an occasional capsize, I think. But fun, yes.

This is why we came up with "Cruiser":

The story behind the Scandinavian Cruiser name:
Here is what Wikipedia says:
"A cruiser is a large type of warship, which had its prime period from the late 19th century to the end of the Cold War. The first cruisers were intended for individual raiding...."
This is a definition which a Viking has no problem with!
“Cruising around” also has connotations with pleasurable sunny weather day-sailing and relaxed coastal exploring.
The name "Skerry Cruiser" is a phonetical approximation of the Swedish name "Skärgårdskryssare" or Danish name "Skaergaardskrydser", both of which sounds a little bit like “Skerry Cruiser”, and it is no doubt how the English name came about, but it actually means "shoal cruiser", referring to the protruding rocks off the coast of the Baltic Sea. To really confuse all of us, the Danish word "krydser" means not only a "cruiser" type of boat, but also "crossing" or "tacking upwind".
For all of the above reasons, we had to name our new boats "Scandinavian Cruisers".

more than an occasional capsize, I think.

I was waiting for confirmation from the builders but I see they already chimed in since I told them I posted here. Boat is self righting even from an inverted position. That's one of the primary things that appeals to me about it.

Its pretty BUT the hiking position does NOT look comfortable and is and on going battle in one design racing in the USA as the contorted positions are not fun

Boats like the Melges 20 have been built with sit in the boat rules

Not quite as small but beautiful. I have had the pleasure to race against this boat a couple of times. Museum piece quality. The owner keeps in a climate controlled warehouse and it has a full time maintenance person. The S-20 is a very pretty boat. I bet it is fun to day sail or race. Nice big roach on the mainsail, fractional rig with small jib which makes it easy to tack. The keel is very modern so I bet she goes to weather really well. There's quite a lot of overhang on both ends which gives her a very pretty appearance, but might not help performance so much. I know when she is heeled the waterline length increases, but that is old school, I believe. Most modern go fast boats have pretty plumb bows. Rule beating also has played a roll in such hull design, but if it is one design, that is moot.
Nothing like a pretty boat no matter the size and nothing like a pretty boat that sails well too.
