Does any one have any ideas on tightening up the Genoa luff on an Oday 240. I am reluctant to tighten up the backstay too much because of the plate that secures the mast to the deck. The mast is pinned in one position and raking it forward or aft does not seem to be an option. I have considered taking out the forward pin. I have had boats in the past that had mast secured by a single hinge. I am not really comfortable with the idea though. I am sure that Raymond Wall designed the boat so that the jib luff can be tensioned. Any ideas from other 240 owners?

Is the forestay bowing out? If so, you need to tighten it up by either tightening the backstay or the forestay. If the forstay is keeping it's shape then a hefty haul on the jib halyard should do it.
