I am going to sail the Waddensee and the English channel this summer. Does anyone know (or perhaps has anyone some experience)if it is possible to dry out with a Vega? I know that the hull is quite strong but can it stand when the Vega is lying on her side?
I would be very grateful for all information.
I would be interested in maps on that region if someone has some for sail.

I had the pleasure of meeting a US Vega sailor who had single-handed his
Vega from the US to Ireland in (I think) 2007.

He made his landfall in a small drying harbour (Kinvara Co Galway) and
took up a berth against a stone harbour wall with fenders and (I think)
wooden planks between the boat and the wall.

More importantly for you, he had "beaching legs": vertical poles secured
to the off side of the boat that prevented the boat from falling away
from the wall.

The boat rested on the keel at low water and the owner said that he
slept well except just before and just after she grounded.

I suggest that you consider fitting beaching legs port & starboard.
