I have a 1986 O'Day 192. Nineteen years seems long enough to think about replacing the line and possibly the pendant that pulls up the swing keel. I am confident that the procedure will be quite simple. However, what is not so simple is swinging the keel down while on land. My Shorelander trailer has the keel sitting on a 2x10 plank. I am assuming that what I need to do is jack up the back of the boat and pull the trailer from underneath the boat so that the keel can be swung down and inspected for not only the line but the bearing and the shims. Does anybody have any experiance doing this? What tips can you give me?
