I have a 74 Monsun 31. Mast is stepped on deck and is hinged on a pin. Looks like it wants to go forward, where it would nestle neatly in a notch in the bow pulpit. I'd like to lower it to do some work on the masthead while it is in drydock. Anyone have any experience with this process. Do you need some type of gin pole arrangement to lower it down? Thanks.
