I have an 04 Hunter 426 and finally decided to drop the table and put the cushions on to make it a berth. Well it is 2 inches too far to the port side and 2 inches too high. It looks to me that it needs to be moved over, but it in no way can it be lowered any more without removing material. So what am I missing about the process.

What you're missing is that the salon table was never designed to be flat - all the 426s and 44s (same boat) have it that way. Just drop it as far as you can, it does overlap and place the provided cushion over that. A well positioned pillow helps as well.
Also -- are you sure you have an 04 and not an 03 (not that it will change the answer above)? Hunter renamed the 426 as the 44 for the 04 and later models.
Thank you for the reply Lee Coller. It was sold to me as an 04 and it has the 426 on the side and in the paper work. I guess it is posable that it was built in 03 and sold in 04. So I will just have to consider modifying it to go all the way down as this thing is way too high and unacceptable if I am going to go through the bother of taking the cushions with us.
If you check the HID it will tell you. The last two digits will indicate the model year.

I just found your boat (I was curious) looks like it was built in April of 03, but it is an 04 model. Hunter must have kept the 426 designation for some of the early 04 production.
