Because of this storm I recently tried to lower my jib sail for removal. From what I understand you pull the release wire and the sail should unlock and lower but that is not the case. Have pulled, yanked to no avail. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I've got the same system. And it doesn't work very well. Have been unable to get my jib to come down for the last couple of years. Will need to send my buddy to the top of the mast and trip it manually. It gets hung up. Poor design from my perspective.

I'm in Kansas. We don't have hurricanes. And tornadoes will take more than just a jib if they hit you.
