I just purchased Hunter 260, it is in a slip. I would like to know if the mast braces need to be taken off before moving mast to pulpit for securing for travel. Was unable to find any information in manual or a u tube clip. Thanks Gary
Kermit's got it. The supports are never removed unless you're changing the mast is suppose.
Kermit - we've still got to link up soon. We've been busy here with our first born son and two "free" puppies. And moving into a new house. Needless to say, time on the boat has been lacking but would like to make it over your way.
GF;
Originally there were sh0rt baby stay style shrouds that attached on the side of the masts which some forgot to do so and lost the mast due to it falling over sideways. The decision was made for a permanent bar style which you do not have to remove that eliminated the problem on the 240 260and Hunter 27 Edge. When first commissioning those boats at the dealership, the dealer had to make sure the distance between the attachments were the same distance on each side or it caused the mast to bow sideways until it was corrected. You might want to look at that just to be sure. I was involved with the mast raise systems on he Hunters and Catalinas and know them very well.
