It seems that we had an OJ moment recently. A man stole a running vehicle at a gas station here. From WJHG TV: "A suspected car thief found himself in the middle of Watson Bayou Tuesday afternoon, without an escape route. Local authorities say 26-year-old Giovanni Guiseppi Stoll stole a pick-up truck left running in a Full-Ups Convenience Store parking lot on Thomas Drive. Stoll then led them on a high speed chase though downtown Panama City, before retreating to the water. The man first tried unsuccessfully to climb aboard another man's boat. Then, Stoll swam to another vessel where Bay County sheriff's deputies took him into custody. Stoll is being charged with a number of charges including carjacking, fleeing and eluding and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana." Sherrifs deputies stated that he was in the process of "unfurling the sails" when he was apprehended. Talk about a slow speed getaway.
