Low Catalina Smile

I just talked to a broker who, when describing the Catalina 30 (1985) he said it had the Catalina smile on the keel but it was not at the keel joint but about 8 inches below the joint. Is anyone familiar with this and is it something I should be especially concerned about as I look at purchasing the boat?

That's about the spot

where the keel bolts to the keel stub (i.e. bolts to the outside of the bilge) on at Cat 30, so its where the "Smile" would occur. As long as it's not too bad, nothing to really worry about, a common problem covered many times here. Just so its not letting water seep thru into the lamninate or worse yet get to the bolts themselves. But a 19847 has stainless keelbolts, and where you are in freshwater, the bolts themselves are likely fine. Check archives here for the fixes.
