Somehow the nut that holds the steering wheel to the helm is missing. How do I get a new one for my 1984 Beneteau First 345? What size nut do I need?

I've been waiting for 42 years to say this: "Don't let the nut holding the wheel get tight!"
Saw it on a pre-MADD poster in NYS in 1971. OK, so my math ain't too good!
What you need to tell us is what kind of steering system you have on your boat. Most likely is Edson, so go to www.edsonmarine.com or Defender and find one.
