Sometime around midnight July 3rd my Minto washed away from my beach on Rich Passage. It would have gone adrift at the extreme high tide or was dislodged by the midnight Bremerton to Seattle ferry. The groove from the bow was still showing in the sand. So by the time I noticed it being gone it had ridden the outgoing tide through Rich Passage towards Seattle for about 7 hours. It has a white hull with black bottom paint and a black boot stripe. The teak gunwales and seats have a Cetol finish. It was a late 1960's Ranger Minto (no HIN) and was fairly unique in that the inner and outer gunwale strips were three laminations each. I suspect a boater returning from the Poulsbo fireworks display probably took it in tow. If you rescued my Minto please call 360 620 1155. Thanks. Mike Ellis

I have posted this notice to both the "boats" and "lost and found" sections of the Seattle Craigslist, as well as "Gregs Pub" and "48North", and so far no positive responses. I have received some suggestions as to its whereabouts. Like Port Angleles, Astoria and Silverdale. I have to rule out the Silverdale site, since it is the wrong direction. However, by now Astoria is becoming a real possibility.

It is the one on the right:

They can wind up in the strangest of places!
We had a friend drown in NC and found his body a pretty good way up in VA about 3 days later. No foul play, it washed out of Oregon Inlet, caught the right current and away it went. It was something like 60 miles away.
So the lesson is, don't leave any stone unturned looking for it.
Jack
PS...pretty boat! I hope you find it, let us know either way.

Good luck recovering it... looks like a nice boat. However, are you sure it was washed away... it could have been stolen just as easily...
