While putting our boat away last fall we negelcted to knot the end of the outhaul line and it ended up inside the boom. Our boom is an isomat 75497. Any help in retieving the line would be appreciated. Our boat is a Oday 31

Lost Lines

This might sound ridiculous and silly, but I recovered and corrected my Out haul and reefing line in our Isomat boom, by simply hanging the boom over the sides (while up on Jacks of course), with the topping lift still attached at the end. I don't have the double set of pulley's inside however, that some of these booms feature. (That would be a big problem). But just the weight of the lines, gravity and a few good shakes was all I needed to get a finger on them. A good bit of patience will also be helpful. Good Luck Jerry B.

If you know an electrician borrow a wire cable they have & run it thru the boom then hook it onto the line & pull it back. These wire cables are flexible enough to bend or be coiled up but uncoiled can be pushed thru a boom from either end. A water line flexible cleaning wire is another possible tool. Mine that I use to clear our lines the septic tank is about 15' long & should do the trick
