I seem to have lost my bearings. I have a Canadian built CS27 with a Hyde Streamstay One furling system.
The lower drum ceased at the end of last years season. I tried lubricating the area with a number of recommended sprays etc but it doesn't budge.
I was hoping someone had access to the manual in order to help disassemble it with the least amount of @#%^#$^'ing.
The local marine supply shop will gladly sell me a new system but has suggested I not give up hope just yet and to try to obtain the aformentioned manual.
He apparently replaced bearings in his but that was 15 years ago.
As we were away on holidays most of June I have only recently turned my attention to this problem.
I was hoping to have it resolved before the rest of the summer sailng season is just a fond memory. (And before the harbour freezes up which happens earlier her in the Great White North.
If anyone has any suggestions or directions it would be appreciated.

do they still make that brand?? if not, try to find bearings and rebuild vs replace the dang thing with a newer model--i know , i know--that is for the gf--lol(replacing with newer model..yuk yuk--i yam so funny..lol-)
good luck and smooth sailing....we had good luck with nice n easy's cdi system--does things ye dont want it to do but is easy to fix..lol..unlike some with enclosed drums--is accessable and usable---can troubleshoot easily....
