Any good resources (Video/DVDs) for Coastal Navigation? I take some basic courses over the winter and then when the summer is here I forget what I have learned. Too much time away from the water (5 months) is not helpful to my navigation skills. Looking for a video that I can pop back in and do a quick refresher. Thanks

I am not much for electronic

media but you might find this book useful and portable. The Practical Pilot by Leonard Eyges ISBN 0-87742-969-3 Published by International Marine Pubsilhing Company

Check this out

Looking around this is the only one I have found. The videos from this group on other sailing subjects have been pretty good. I have not seen it. Good Winds Dave M s/v DAMWEGAS

Nothing can beat taking a class where you also have to pass a test, and they make it fun too. My navigation certificate is from American Sailing Association (ASA) from Port Sailing School www.portsailing.com on Long Island. There are also great schools in Oyster Bay, Long Island www.thewaterfrontcenter.org, and in San Francisco www.clubnautique.net that I also highly recommend.

If you decide to

take a class don't over look the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary courses. usually offered through the Community College systems.

Here's what I have to add, see link below. There is a company out of Canada I believe that teaches ASA 105 Navigation online, but I can't seem to find the site just now.
