While out sailing in 15-20 knot winds last weekend, I soon discovered that I couldn't contol my 326 very well. I was able to sail from the ship channel to the #2 buoy at the Clear Lake channel. Once I headed into the wind and furled my sails, I discovered I had no rudder - even the emergency tiller did not work. I was towed to my marina and later discovered that the rudder was spinning on the rudder post. This all occured 3 months out of waranty. Foss Foam says they will replace the rudder if it is defective; but I have to cover the costs of shipping, towing, haul-out, and labor. I don't think I should have to cover any costs on a boat this new (15 mos. old) and Hunter is keeping their hands clean until they see the rudder. I have heard that Hunter had problems with these rudders in the past. I'd like to hear some feedback from other Hunter owners on rudder problems.
