Loss of rudder on 1978 Hunter 27

The rudder on my 1978 Hunter 27 sheared off where the rudder comes through the housing on the hull. Does anyone know if Hunter Marine sells the rudder? How about a set of specifications so I can have one built? Thanks

Reseating the rudder

James, Not sure were we got the rudder, I can find this out. But, I can tell you how to reinstall the new rudder. First the new rudder will float. Do some testing and find out how much weight will be required to sink the new rudder. Get the boat in 10 ft of calm water. Get the weight on the bottom under the rudder hole. with a block, draw the rudder down, under the boat. You will be able to position the post into the pipe and allow the rudder to rise up. Be sure to cut the new shaft to the proper link first. We did this on our 75 27 ft and took about an hour.
