Last season I had a situation where my Universal 25 overheated badly. After a good deal of experimentation I was able to solve the overheating problem and engine now seems to work fine except that I don't seem to have the power I did before. I have no trouble starting the engine and it no longer overheats. I just can't get the boat speed, even under favorable conditions, to go over 3 1/2 to 4 kts. under power. Any suggestions.

boat speed

as a pro mechanic for dodge.CO i se this problem all the time i think what hapened is you glazed your piston walls and burned your piston rings so you are no longer getting the same compression that you used to have it may go further in to burned valves depending on how hot and how long you ran the motor you will have to rebuild the motor to fix the problem you have metal fatigue and harding of your motor i could go in to great detail on the problem but i cant type that fast have your motor re built!!
