Scott, just remember - if the wife says "we need a bigger boat", you always reluctantly let her talk you into the idea :D

Scott,
Time to come down to the Barnegat Bay and give it a try.
Left me know if you want a tour.

Thanks Ward ... that's a good idea. I like the town of Barnegat and I think Sue would, too! My shoal draft would surely be good for that area. I also like that marina you're in ... assuming you're still there.

Come to the Pacific Northwest

Our water never gets hard, but it rains a bit (1/3 of our days). We do however get some great days. Temperate climate, cruising from Olympia WA to Alaska all in protected water with a few small crossings.

+1 for Barnegat. I'm partial to the Forked River area as it has room on the bay to sail south in the relatively calm late mornings, setting up a pleasant run back in the strong afternoon seabreeze. It also has room to the north for the days when the wind is uncharacteristically northerly.

Scott,
Still there. It's been breezy but I did manage to get out twice over the holiday weekend.
In fact, even on Monday there were more sailboats than fishing boats and jet skis out on the water.
