My F-N-R shift lever has come loose but will not come off. It appears to be rivited? from two sides (one is out, the other is holding fast, but still won't shift on demand). I have a teporary fix but want to make it solid before my next long trip. My inclination is to use a cobalt bit to drill all the way though the shaft and then fit it with a cotter pin or through bolt. Anybody have any thoughts or opinions? I am trying to get underway from Boston when the weather clears (could be any time in the next decade the way things are going) but any quick thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. Rob
