Loose Keel

When I hauled out my Tanzer in the fall, I noticed crack / gap of about 1/4 to 1/2 in between the haul and the keel. Once the boat was on stands and the pressure was on the keel, I tried to tighten the bolts without success. Should I be concerned about this gap?

Have it looked at

Its hard to tell what's going on without seeing the boat. Sometimes certain boats flex as they are hauled out of the water and a gap that looks terrible is created - while in the water there is no problem. Other times the gaps is worse in the water! I would have a surveyor or good fiberglass guy come and have a look.Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Tanzer FAQ

Hey Bert,Regarding the Tanzer 22:In the FAQ (link below, sorry I can't put it on the related link because the URL has a tilde (~) in it!), under "keel bolts" they mention that carbon steel washers were used with SS keel bolts causing problems.
