Hey all,

I'm an 18 year old sailor looking for an (or several) opportunity(-ies) to crew in races or practices for races. I am a Seascout and am always looking to expand my Sailing skills. I am applying to the United States Coast Guard Academy next year and would like to take any sailing opportunity I get.

I live in the Fredericksburg / Stafford Area of Virginia, that's an hour to Washington D.C and an hour to richmond, va.

If anyone is interested, let me know!

Too far away but here's some advice.

Visit clubs. Be ready to talk about your experience. Be honest. Under sell. Over deliver.
Show up early. Be the last to leave the boat.
Offer to do ANYTHING.
Dress the part. Boat shoes. Sailing shorts. Tech shirt. Gloves and glasses.
On the water, listen and learn. Beyond skilled positions, learn to stay focused, call wind, hike hard.
Be the guy that nobody wants to leave on the dock.
You'll get plenty of rides.
