Greetings All, I'm looking to put an inverter on my 25.5. I'm anticipating light duty, but you never know. The Admiral might want a microwave or toaster oven. What is a good brand....should I buy off the internet?....Ebay?.... Thanks for any response. Jim in STL

How much battery reserve do you have?

Jim: How much battery reserve do you have? A microwave will eat a battery fairly quick. How are you going to recharge? Check out Statpower. They have combo packages with the proper sizing for each application.

Make sure it has a transfer switch

I purchased a Statpower 600watt and worked good till I pluged in the shore power without disconnecting the inverter. 1/10 of a second later it was history.. I now have a Heart 1000watt and love it..

Forget it

You'll run down your batteries in no time. Better to use dock power to run the microwave, hairdryer, etc. Camping out on the water should preclude such luxuries anyway.

Sam's sells a 300watt inverter for $30.00, same

brand as West Marine sells for $80.00. Works great to run a blender, laptop, tv, curling iron, etc.
