I recently posted this to the parts forum. Please forgive the duplication, but I figured it would improve my chances if I got this in front of as many folks as possible.

I have Ray Jefferson WS60 and WD30 instruments on the old O'Day 23 I bought about a year ago. The sensors at the masthead are long gone. These seem to be out of production. Does anyone know where I can get the sensors or what might be compatible with them? Does anyone know what kind of signal these instruments expect? If I at least knew that, I might be able to find some weather station instruments that would be compatible.

Thanks.

I totally lucked out, I had an add on here a month or two ago and a guy in my hometown actually stopped by and "gave" me a set...

I tried them out and the signals matched the gauges so I'm set to put 'em up the mast this spring...

I don't know what kind of signal they "put out"...? They didn't work till I powered up the gauges then they gave readings...

I have them loose and can test them if you tell me what to look for (I have a nice voltmeter, but no silly scope)

Sensors don't have any markings or lables, have three wire on the direction finder and two wire on the wind speed..They work with my Ray Jefferson gauges same numbers as yours...

Thanks for the reply.

I think that you would need a scope to figure out what kind of signal the speed sensor puts out. I would think that if it is a generator type of sensor, the output would be a sine wave. Otherwise, it might be pulses. Maybe later this spring, I'll try taking it to a friend who has a function generator that we could try hooking up to it to try to see what it responds to. In the meantime, I have some deck repair to attend to.
