Looking for the hull and serial number

Iam looking of where the the numbers are on my 1979 hunter 37 cutter. We just bought the boat in December 99.

Hull number location

Hi, I have an 85 H40 and the serial number is on the transom starboard side top. It's also on the survey and the documentation papers. Call Hunter at 1.800.771.9463 if you don't have the other papers. Good luck on your new boat.Gene KinneyS/V Triumph

Starboard, high on transom..

is where you should find it. It's not very big, it is just embossed in the glass so it does not stand out.

HIN

Since 1972 the U. S. Coast Guard has required U. S. boat builders to place a Hull Identification Number(HIN) on the transom, usually near the top on the starboard side. This number consist of the builders identification(letters) like HUN the year and month of manufacture, the hull number and the length.
